Our worlds

Two worlds, at two very different scales.

In development

UTOPIA

A living world, and everything in it.

UTOPIA simulates a whole world: its land and seasons, its creatures, and the people who live there. Each character perceives only part of what surrounds them, remembers what happened to them, and decides for themselves what to do next. Over generations, settlements grow into realms, dynasties rise and fall, and a few lives become more than ordinary.

A world to live in, not a story to follow.Your life in UTOPIA is yours to live.

Settlements rise and fall

Early exploration

EUPHORIA

A world that begins with life.

Euphoria starts much earlier, with simple life. Species adapt, compete and branch apart while ecosystems shift beneath them. Some lineages become intelligent, build civilizations, develop technology, and eventually leave their planet for the stars.

What our worlds hold

Three things we keep returning to.

Nature

The scale of nature

Mountains, rivers and seasons that were there before anyone arrived and will remain after. Nature sets the terms for every life inside it, and sometimes it is simply larger than everything else on the screen.

History

The rise and fall of dynasties

Power gathers in empires, clans, temples and trading cities, holds for a while, then breaks. In our worlds history is made by the people living through it, one decision at a time, and nobody knows in advance which house will last.

Beyond

The extraordinary

Every culture has its own way past the ordinary: gods and spirits, saints and sages, immortals who cultivate for centuries, oracles, curses, pacts with things that should not answer. We draw on all of them, and we want the extraordinary to grow out of the world rather than be placed into it.

What we believe

We are interested in worlds that are not completely authored.

Worlds where characters, ecosystems and civilizations can become something we did not explicitly script.

We design the senses, the memory and the rules. What happens after that belongs to the world, and to the people who play in it.

WOK LABS

Research for worlds that can think, remember and change.

WOK Labs studies what sits underneath our worlds: how a mind takes in a world it can only partly see, where its memories come from, and how scattered impressions slowly organize into meaning.

Meaning is never placed there by hand. It gathers, finds its edges, splits into finer distinctions, merges with what lies close to it, and sometimes comes apart again.

Perception · Memory · Meaning · Emergence

Research notes will be published here as the work matures.
